What Are Remote Control Cars?
Remote control cars and trucks are scaled-down versions of real vehicles, powered by electric motors or engines. Often referred to as radio-controlled (RC) cars, these models are operated with a hand-held transmitter that allows you to control the vehicle’s speed and steering remotely.
While remote control cars are widely available in toy and department stores, the RC models sold by ZOOM RC are of a much higher caliber. Unlike toy-grade vehicles, ZOOM RC cars and trucks are built for serious enthusiasts. They offer superior strength, speed, durability, and realism, providing a more rewarding experience that lasts for years.
At ZOOM RC, you can explore a vast array of RC car options. To start narrowing down your choices, think about where you'll be running your vehicle. Some RC cars are designed for rough off-road terrain, while others excel on smooth, paved surfaces. We offer everything from compact, indoor-friendly micro/mini cars to large-scale models that can exceed two and a half feet in length. The 1/10 scale is the most popular size for RC enthusiasts.
If you're considering two-wheel drive (2WD) or four-wheel drive (4WD), there are notable differences in performance and complexity. While 2WD cars are generally simpler and more affordable, they may be harder to control compared to their 4WD counterparts, which are more adept at navigating challenging terrain.
ZOOM RC offers two types of remote control cars: Ready-to-Run (RTR) and kit models. For beginners, RTR remote control cars are the simplest entry into the hobby. These cars come pre-assembled and are ready to race right out of the box. While most models include the necessary accessories, depending on the model, you may need to purchase additional items like a rechargeable battery and charger.
As for the remote control car kits, we are currently updating our available kit components. Please stay tuned. Kits require assembly, making them ideal for DIY enthusiasts. Building a kit from scratch can take several hours and may require specialized tools. Additionally, many kits do not include components such as motors, tires, and painted bodies, giving experienced modelers the opportunity to customize according to their preferences. While kits may be challenging for beginners, they provide a deeper understanding of the construction and maintenance of remote control cars.
